Below you find a few documents and slides from presentations. Feel free to use this material (citations welcome!). Please note that my slides tend to be useless without the words. I will try to upload the odd videos in due course.

App development

See the app developing. We start with sketches of what the various screens might look like. Are the right buttons in the right place? Would you find your way around?

Activity decision tree

The challenge for the time-use app we are developing is to allow users to enter 'what they are doing' on a small smart phone screen. We try to avoid scrolling and use of keyboards as much as possible. If we can find five appropriate terms that each lead to five sub-terms, then three clicks would be enough to distinguish between over one hundred activities. This Excel document is a first attempt. Comments and suggestions for improvement are highly encouraged. Please email them to philipp.grunewald@ouce.ox.ac.uk. Thank you.
